Akagera National Park

The homely and low-lying tableland of Akagera makes up a grassy tropical plain, greenwood, marshland, and exchange of lakes. The mainly spacious plain is perfect for observing wildlife. Buffalo, elephant, antelope, zebra, giraffe, baboons, monkeys, an unbelievable  490 bird species, and much more.A watercraft tour on Lake Ihema – a pleasant welcome for all to Akagera. Inclusive of Nile crocodiles, hippos waterbirds in the center of the lake. 

You can self-drive or tour with an operator, either way, exploring the park is only possible with a vehicle. Resting within the park is available at lodges, bush camps in the north during specific times, or campsites.
